Leaving Lisbon Airport
Located just 20 minutes away from the city centre, getting to or coming from the Lisbon Airport is easy. You have at your service an efficient public transportation network that can ensure you arrive where you need to go quickly and comfortably. Choose the transportation that best suits your needs.
Metro
The Lisbon Airport has a Metro (subway) station with a direct line to the city centre. The ‘Aeroporto – Saldanha’ line (RED Line) takes you to downtown Lisbon in about 20 minutes. The Metro network will allow you to move around the city at ease. It is a quick and inexpensive way to get around, plus you’ll get to see Lisbon’s subway stations – each with its own theme and décor.
See Metro Lines Map here.

[If you are staying in Belém, please note that there is no subway station in Belém, or in walking distance to Belém]
Bus
Several bus lines stop at the airport arrivals terminal, taking you to different parts of the city.

Taxi
You can always find a taxi at the airport, queueing outside the arrivals terminals. As the city centre is very close, taxis are a rather affordable transportation option, even with the luggage fees which are charged separately by the driver (i.e., on top of the meter). Depending on traffic, the journey to the city centre is quick, costing between 10 and 20 euros, including luggage fees.
Online reservation platforms: Uber & Bolt
At Lisbon Airport, there is a dedicated area for picking up passengers with orders on online reservation platforms (Bolt and Uber) located on P2 (parking lot 2) at the arrivals level. [On the reverse route, to go to the airport, passengers travelling using these online reservation platforms are dropped off at Drop Off 1 or Drop Off 2, next to the departures area.]
You cannot pick up a Uber/Bolt at the entrance of the airport where the Taxis are, that area is reserved form them. Bolt or Uber can only pick up passengers at the designated area at Parking Lot 2 (P2)*. Find a map below.
*Once you leave baggage claim, at the ramp, you should turn left, and then go all the way to the left as indicated in the yellow line seen below (no need to go outside, there is a hallway to the parking lot inside) – if you go past Starbucks, you are in the right direction!
*Useful App: Citymapper is a public transit app and mapping service that displays transport options, usually with live timing, between any two locations in a supported city (Includes Lisbon!). It integrates data for all modes of urban transport, including walking, cycling and driving, as well as public transport (provides price information and alternative Uber and Taxi estimates), for all your transit cost needs. It is free of charge to users and available on iPhone and Android, and by an Internet website.
